Remember that your Blog is Public
One of the things that our generation fails to remember is that these blogs that we publish online are public. That means anyone can read it, and therefore if you want to share something private, don’t post it on your blog.
I had a great reminder of that fact this week, when Julie (one of the girls I work with) was fired for lying about being sick. Turns out she posted on her blog that she was out partying and had a horrible hangover, so she didn’t come to work – and that cost her her job.
So the next time that you are going to post some funny pictures, or tales of that wild party last week, remember that anyone can read you blog. If it is something that could bite you in the ass, you might just not want to post it.
